Plan An Itinerary

Use The Map And Look Around

Change the map style, tilt it, find yourself on it and look around a stop at street level.

Every itinerary has a map with its stops numbered in order. A few controls sit on the map itself.

Steps

Open an itinerary and show its map. On iPhone, drag the itinerary down. On iPad and Mac, it sits beside the itinerary.

Choose the Map Style button to switch between Standard, Muted, Satellite and Hybrid.

Choose 3D to tilt the map, and 2D to flatten it again.

Choose Show My Location to centre the map on where you are.

Step through your stops with Previous Stop and Next Stop. Choose the thumbnail marked Look Around to see the place at street level.

What You Get

Standard and Muted are drawn maps, and Muted is a quieter one. Satellite shows photographs, and Hybrid adds street and place names on top. Travelyfe remembers your style on this device.

Look Around shows street-level views, where Apple has them. It follows the stop you are on, so step to another stop and it moves with you.

If It Doesn't Work

  • Show My Location does nothing. The first time, Travelyfe asks for your location. If you said no, turn Location on for Travelyfe from Account > More Options > Settings > Location.
  • There is no Look Around thumbnail. Apple does not have street-level views everywhere. Try a stop in a larger city.
  • A stop is missing from the map. A stop with no place does not appear. Open it and choose a place.

Limits

The map is flat on the web, with no 3D. See Plan Days And Stops for directions and the web map.
